BAGRI FOUNDATION LONDON INDIAN FILM FESTIVAL

London Indian Film Festival, One  of the most celebrated film festival in UK marks its eighth year with LGBTQ, Brexit and various quirky themes by Independent film makers to showcase their skills and creativity.

Festival opens it doors on 22nd June at the BFI Southbank with the red carpet premiere of the historical epic Drama, The Black Prince by Kavi Raz. Movie is based on last King of Punjab played by Satinder Sartaaj, which has stellar cast of Shabana Azmi and Jason Flemyng in povital role. The movie feast ends on 29th June with Sanal Kumar Sasidharan’s “Sexy Durga,” which had rave reviews at film festivals and international circuit.

This year’s title also includes some of the movies by independent film makers like Babylon Sisters,  The Cinema Travellers, Lapachhapi (Hide & Seek), Ondu Motteya Kathe (Egghead), Badman, Newton, Bridge, Pinneyum (Once Again), Zikr Us Parivash Ka, Gardaab (Whirlpool),  Mukti Bhawan (Hotel Salvation,  A Billion Colour Story, Half Ticket – Education Screening, Seto Surya (White Sun).

One of the Highlights of the Festival has always been short films directed by British Asian filmmakers who bring in new exciting methods of storytelling. This year brings introduction of VR headsets where members of public have the opportunity to put the headsets, be a judge in selection of Best Documentaries, event runs between 24-25th June BFI Southbank.

You would not wont to miss the conversation (Q&A) with Ashutosh Gowariker. And, also Pratibha Parmar special screening and panel discussion with  Poulomi Desai, Co-founder of Shakti, Kim Mulji and Cary Rajinder Sawhney, LIFF
